QUALIFICATION : A candidate must be a Graduate in Law of a University recognized by the State Government or a Barrister at Law or a Member of the faculty of Advocates in Scotland. A Superintendent or a Ministerial Officer in the High Court, or any Civil or Criminal Court subordinate to the High Court; or an Assistant Law Officer or Translator of the Law Department of Government, shall be eligible for appearing at the competitive examination for recruitment to the Orissa Judicial Service, Class-II, if he/she is a Graduate in Law of a University recognized by the State Government; has approved service in the High Court or in any Civil or Criminal Court subordinate to the High Court or in the Law Department, or has such service(including practice at the Bar, if any) of not less than five years on the last date fixed for receipt of applications for the said competitive examination; and has been recommended by their respective appointing authority and is not more than thirty-nine years of age on the 1st day of August, 2003. A candidate of the above category should furnish with his/her application necessary evidence to the effect that his/her case has been recommended by the appropriate authority and he/she satisfies the aforesaid conditions of eligibility. 5 AGE LIMIT INCLUDING CONCESSION - A candidate must not be below 21 years of age and not over 34 years of age on the 1st day of August, 2003. The upper age limit is relaxable by five years in case of S.C., S.T. & Women candidates and three years in case of S.E.B.C. candidates. The upper age limit is also relaxable upto maximum five years in favour of Ex-servicemen candidates who satisfy the prescribed conditions The upper age limit is relaxable by ten years in favour of Orthopaedically Handicapped candidates. The prescribed application form, copy of the Orissa Judicial Service Rules, 1994 and other particulars are obtainable from the office of the Orissa Public Service Commission, 19, Dr. P.K.Parija Road, Cuttack 753 001 personally on cash payment of Rs. 30/-. on any working day between 11.00 A.M to 1.30 P.M. and from 200.P.M. to 4.00 P.M. or by registered post by money order of Rs. 55/-. The candidates requisitioning the application form by post must specify the name of the post, Advertisement No. and full address in BLOCK CAPITAL LETTERS in the money order coupon.
